Ladderball has been played for years by people who have crafted homemade versions of the game using various materials that include wood, plastic and bolas crafted from golf balls. In 2003, Maranda Enterprises took the game concept and made improvements to ladder and bola design and created the first successful retail version of the game. Two versions of the game are available, Single Ladderball and Double Ladderball.
